The Beckham's - David's Posh Cruz to Brooklyn With Romeo for Number Four
69
It seems the whole world knows just who the Beckham's are. David and Victoria Beckham have both made a name for themselves - both in Europe as a football couple and America more as celebrities -and one can say that they have succeeded time and time again to snatch the attention of the media whether they be willing or unwilling to say the least.
David Beckham has played football for clubs such as Manchester United,Real Madrid, A.C. Milan, L.A. Galaxy and now it seems, Tottenham. Victoria Beckham has sang with The Spice Girls, ( I think perhaps everyone over 20- am I reaching? - knows the song Wannabe) modeled and designed. Both have their own cologne/perfume lines named after themselves (which celebrity doesn't these days?), both have their own dolls ( which is weird but again, it seems to be a new fad) and really a bunch of other paraphernalia concerning football, and singing. Together they have three children : Brooklyn - the oldest, named after the place where he was conceived was born on the 4th of march, 1999. Romeo - the second in line was born on September 1st 2002 and Cruz born on the 21st of February, 2005. It is no surprise that all three have received significant attention from the media. Of the three the one most cheeky or somewhat mischievous seems to be the youngest - but isn't it that was in all families? I seem to recall my youngest sibling being able to get away with a lot more than I could.
Anyway, Brooklyn appears more reserved preferring, it seems, to stay out of the limelight for now, Romeo is the stylish one ( he was voted number 26 on G.Q's best dressed list - his father was voted number 16 on that same list ad get this, he even beat out Jude Law and Prince William) and Cruz, well what can we say about Cruz except for this :
As with any couple in the media, there has been good publicity and there has been bad. Whether they are rumors or truths, readers tend to believe what they want and it is one of the prices that come with fame. In the midst of this the Beckham's have announced that they are expecting a fourth child and there was much speculation as to whether it is a boy or a girl. Many have said that Posh wants a girl badly, but boy or girl, it is reported that the family is delighted. No doubt there were bets passing as to the gender, as to the date of birth, down to what the baby will be named, if Posh will wear heels throughout the entire pregnancy etc. and so forth. But such is the norm when you are a celebrity and you are in the limelight. Some are even suggesting that Posh will smile more if she has a girl (she is having a girl- it has been confirmed), but thinking about it, would you smile when lights are flashing continuously in your eyes, causing you temporary blindness wherever you go? And doesn't that question of a girl making her smile, insinuate that she is not happy with her boys? Au contraire - she has said that she loves her boys. So just because she does not smile as much as her husband, David Beckham ( Don't you have to say his whole name? It feels just weird saying the first) doesn't make her love her family less. All in all, they seem to be good parents - showing interests in their interests, spending quality time with them etc. and for the most part, the public sends their best wishes.
So for now, the Beckhams are back in England, expecting a fourth child, still very much in the limelight, and appearing to be there for quite a long time yet - at least for the next nine months or so. Hopefully Beckham will play some games for Tottenham and remind us just how he can bend a ball.
