Gonzalo Higuain- The Dark Horse of Argentina
If you're a fan of football and have been watching the World Cup, it will be no shock to you that Argentina is doing very well in the tournament. This was predicted by many since the beginning but what was also predicted was the fire with which Lionel Messi would play and the amount of goals he would score. When they predicted this I shook my head and said to myself, 'They are forgetting Gonzalo...What about Pipita?'
Who is Pipita you ask? He is the player who is taking the near impossible to control Jabulani and shooting it into the net over and over again. Gonzalo "Pipita" Higuain is a talented player but he is often overlooked because of other more well known players on his team. Messi, I confess, I cannot love because he plays for Barcelona, while Higuain plays for Real Madrid. This alone convinced me that he would leave a mark at this year's World Cup Tournament. He is a Madridista and Madridistas are special!
Higuain is currently the top scorer in the World Cup and is a sure bet for the Golden Boot. Four goals all magnificently executed which left us thirsty for more. In last season's La Liga tournament, the twenty-two year old, Higuain was a close second for the Golden Boot, Lionel Messi beating him to it. This time the tables have turned.....except Messi is not a close second. Or third. Or fourth. As a matter of fact...Messi hasn't scored at all, has he? Perhaps he will score later on but if he does it will still be due to his teammate who helped secure Argentina's place in the Quarter Finals.
There are many others in line for the Golden Boot. Some have three goals, others have two, but Pipita is the only one with four. Even if he doesn't win, he can rest assured that he left his mark in South Africa and so I say congratulations to Pipita - always knew you had it in you!

We all are accustomed to the age old debate that comes around every four years - is the ball a good quality ball or is it to quote a player this year, "a supermarket ball"? ( Iker Casillas has referred to it... - The Force Behind The Footballers - The Fans
If there is one constant in football it is the fans. Football fans are the same everywhere - loyal to their club/team, boisterous though not necessarily in everyday circumstance, and they all have a bit - just...

Oh I was so sad when Argentina got eliminated after losing to Germany. I loved watching them play more so than any other team. And Messi left without scoring a goal but I think that's okay. He was a very unselfish person on the field and played well.
I love Gonzalo Higuain - he reminds me somehow of my favourite ever footballer, Gabriel Batistuta!

Excellent call, seeing as Higuain's scored the only hat-trick so far!
